Unit 154 Annual Meeting

The Unit 154 annual meeting was held this year on Sunday morning, June 18 at the Kokomo Sectional. The meeting started at 9:30 A.M. just prior to the Swiss Team Game. The following is President Jim Davis' Annual Report.

President's Annual Report -- June 2005 thru May 2006

Our Northern Indiana Unit 154, District 8, held four sectionals and one regional during the last fiscal year. Many thanks go to the chairmen of these tournaments -- Dick Ellis at Kokomo, Jim Pelletier, Bob Carteaux and Joe Shull at Fort Wayne, Raj Kohli at South Bend and Chuck Briggs at Portage. They and their volunteer staffs put in many hours of effort for your enjoyment. We would also like to thank all of our club managers and helpers for their work throughout the year.

The financial condition of our unit continues to be sound, thanks primarily to the very successful annual Fort Wayne Fall Festival Regional. We have been able to subsidize many of our special games at the clubs and participation at the North American Pair/Grand National team events at the district and national levels.

I have selected Chuck Briggs as the recipient for the District 8 Goodwill Committee award. Chuck ran a fine tournament in Portage. He was also able to successfully establish a December tournament date to accommodate the Unit's scheduling. His cooperation was appreciated.

We thank Marilyn Weisbach, Jack Spring and Jim Feinstein, who resigned their board positions, for their past service.

This fiscal year (June 2006 thru May 2007), we are planning sectional tournaments in Kokomo, South Bend, Portage and Fort Wayne and our ever popular regional tournament in Fort Wayne.
